Friends, this life is such a short and sweet gift from God.
What are you doing right now to embrace it and spread the love of God to those around you?
Not after your day off, not once you get your degree, not after you finish the series you’re watching, not after you get married and really settle down, and not once you make the perfect amount of money- RIGHT NOW.
Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men.
It’s so so easy to fall into routine, and worry about what you are doing today, tomorrow, and the day after that, and how it will best serve you. Whether we admit it or not, this creates the mindset that we will serve God on our own time, whenever is convenient for us.
Yet you do not know what tomorrow will bring. What is your life? For you are a mist that appears for a little time and then vanishes.
So teach us to number our days that we may get a heart of wisdom.
How beautiful is it that the Lord gives us opportunities to reach the people He created every single day. We don’t have to have special qualifications or a certain job title, all we need is the Holy Spirit and obedience.
How many people could you impact with the love of Christ if you lived for Him every single day with all you had? This life is not your own- you have been created, saved, and restored through the selfless death of Jesus Christ. What are you doing today to share that saving grace with others?
You, my brothers and sisters, were called to be free. Do not use your freedom to indulge the flesh; rather, serve one another humbly in love.
I am writing this to myself as much as I am to you. We are all in the walk together as brothers and sisters. I often choose another YouTube video over reading my Bible and tend to keep my head down on my walk to class instead of actively smiling and starting conversations with others. I for sure do not have it all together- I fail time and time again. It’s easy to talk a big faith in God, and then live by your own will when you are tested.
I don’t say all this to be discouraging- quite the opposite. We have been given endless and unconditional grace and eternal life from our Creator. While this life on earth is short and unpredictable, we can have hope in a certain future with the God of the universe. He will never leave us or forsake us. If He has changed us on the inside, we must live this out with all we have. He holds our tomorrow and we can rest in that.
So who are you talking to, cooking for, praying over, taking out to coffee, texting encouragement and truth to, and impacting for the Kingdom TODAY? What are you reading, watching, listening to, learning, believing TODAY to lead to closer to Christ?
Your life is now, and it is a gift. Use your time well to glorify God. Go share the unconditional love you have been given with everyone you encounter. Make good use of the roles God has placed you in and the platforms He has given you.
Tomorrow isn’t promised- go make an impact TODAY.
